Jeffrey Mansell — Founder & Chief Investment Officer

Jeff founded Kodiak and directs all research and investment decisions across the firm's four strategies. He studies every investment through two lenses: the numbers in the filings and spreadsheets, and the human behavior that drives markets. The result is a deep respect for risk and an approach that asks what could go wrong before imagining what could go right.

Jeff writes Base Camp, Kodiak's premarket brief for long-term investors, and the firm's quarterly letters to clients. He grew up in Downey, CA, and currently coaches his sons in robotics, basketball and flag football at Valley Christian in Cerritos.

Steven Mansell — Chief Operating Officer

Steve brings decades of experience in business and nonprofit leadership to every part of Kodiak's operations, from account onboarding to client service. A systems thinker, he's always asking how Kodiak can run more efficiently and more reliably for its clients. Outside the office, he's usually with his family or in his wood shop.
